There was a group of Chargers fans who were openinly lobbying for LT not to be chosen.

Let's just say that I am glad that Leinart was not chosen.

Internet peeps usually put up some very nice team-specific covers over the summer. I usually print them and slide them into the case.

My Madden 2006 has a nice Berry cover. :thumbup:

Darren Rovell says;

Multiple industry sources have told me that Tomlinson, in fact, was asked of his interest, was presented with an offer, and told Electronic Arts he was not interested. Tomlinson's turning down of Electronic Arts, we're told, doesn't have much to do with the highly publicized curse, which has been attributed to the recent misfortune of Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander. It has more to do with the fact that the people at Electronic Arts know that, for many, their cover is seen as the "Wheaties box endorsement" -- in that athletes are usually so honored they are willing to do it for less than market value. Tomlinson wasn't.

The deal usually pays the cover athlete $100,000 to $200,000 and requires multiple appearances to pump up the game. Since the Madden game sort of sells itself, the athlete on the cover doesn't really matter that much, but expect more NFL stars to turn down the cover in the future, not because of the curse, but because the price is just too low.

I'll do it for 1/2 that! :)

Madden hasn't been any good in so long. I was glad to hear that 2K sports is coming out with an NFL LEGENDS type game. They are returning to football and releasing a new football game based on NFL's most legendary players. Can't wait.

I absolutely loved the 2K series, and wouldn't have played Madden if the Wii hadn't tried to change the controls.

Speaking of the WII, does it really use two controls like in the Carlton thing?

Madden's a good game, but it was at its peak when it had the 2k competition because then they were forced to put out quality product to keep sales floating.

Even last year there was a noticable lack of "fresh blood" with the very flawed next-gen systems and a forgotten pc version.

For example, on the PC inital depth chart Dansby was listed as the Mike.

A big deal? No. But for obvious fans like us it can make all the difference.

Yes. The thumb controller only has to be used for certain games and you can disconnect that from the main controller.
