I've played 5 games and I have a field goal and a couple TD's by Edge on the All-Pro level.

I'm on PS3.

Having lots of fun playing online right now. I actually won my first game on Madden as the Chargers...I like LT.

The lack of team speed by the Cardinals on both sides of the ball really hurt when playing online with the Cards. My favorite online teams are the Chargers, Panthers, and Bengals in that order.

Well I'm 2-0 now. I played the Chargers vs. Chiefs and Ravens vs. Chargers. I love playing real people because the CPU on All-Pro does not fall for the play action, ever!

Man. I can't lose in Madden. I suggest you spend some time living in a dorm to hone your skills. A couple things the computer can't defend are the out patterns, watch for a cover 2 cuz they will intercept and score easily, or running Q on an inside slant (again watching for the MLB in a drop zone coverage.) The game is all timing and getting used to the way the computer thinks. Before you know it you'll see Matt with a 99 rating.

The last Madden game I played was 2005 and the team speed was an issue then too. The way I combat it was to run a hurry up offense, after a few consecutive plays everyone gets fatigued and runs about the same speed. While playing defense I used a lot of cover 2 and zones trying to put as much pressure on the QB as I could by controlling the best pass rusher.

I've heard there were problems with the Cards defense on Madden. Apparently the game didn't come with many blitz packages, but EA is planning on making those available for download this weekend.

Seriously, SunsTzu makes a salient point about online game play for football. If you're team lacks speed, you have to go "BYU" on everyone and run a no-huddle with a lot of short and medium passes. The more the defensive line has to gear up for the pass rush, the quicker they tire.

You don't have to do every series, but it's good to throw it in there at the start of the occasional series to get some momentum going. (FYI, this is not the offense to use with Edge at running back).

I only play the Cards on xbox live, I do well enough, once you learn the plays and can tell how the other player plays, it gets easier.

The team I have the biggest problem with is the Saints, Deuce breaks every tackle and Bush evades every one.....I have to switch to a 46 and play my LBers up to the line to handle them.

On offense, I start every game in the trips bunch set. First play I run a drag with Bryant Johnson going right to left, I roll Leinart out and hit him, easy play to start the game sometimes if he's faster than the person covering him he gets far enough ahead on the drag to take it to the house. Second play, same formation, quick pitch to edge.

Depending how the guy played those I find the appropriate single back set. Never use trips again.

Also, Boldin is MONEY on just about every slant play. There is a slant play in one of the shotgun formats for him, that if they have that zoned, you can roll left and Pope just runs straight down the field and seems like 2 out of 3 times I can hit him for 50+ yards.
