So LA, SF and SD all made moves while we stood pat. Now we'll see how it works out.

The good news is we did NOT trade away a good prospect for a marginal veteran. So maybe this trading season was a win. :)

We can only hope so, at least we don't face Maddux during the last game of this Cubs series, and hopefully his Ex-Cubs factor will carry over too Los Angeles.

I love it when the DBacks play against Maddux! I am glad that he is now in the Dodgers' rotation.

The Mets got Oliver Perez from the Pirates..... he's a guy I really like. Doesn't make up for their Kazmir trade though

Perez certainly isn't the same player he was in 2004, his velocity is way down and his walks are way up. Could just need a change in scenery as the talent is there somewhere.

I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get another starter, the Reds clearly have the superior team in the WC chase and you gotta think Jake Peavy is going to figure it out one of these days. But I'm very happy with this team's foundation and am happy they did not break that up ina misguided attempt tp compete this year. It's also worth noting that should they fall out of it this month a lot of Dbacks will clear waivers making August deals very possible.
