Cards fans,

I am going with:

"SHUT EM OUT
SHUT EM UP!!"

Will post a pic as usual Monday AM.

I'll be honest... this isn't just a lame idea, but after this weekend it's incredibly tone deaf if not outright offensive.

Can you at least explain this? Who are you saying "Shut Em Up" to? The Dallas fans that will be in the building? because that really looks like you're about to hang a banner...that is telling NFL players to shut up... in a state with a terrible record on race relation... right in the middle of a raging first amendment debate in the country.

That might not be the message you mean to be sending, but it can and will easily be looked at that way in the wake of Trump and his Govt officials blasting black players for exercising their right to free speech.

Again, I CANT STRESS ENOIGH THAT I THINK YOURE INTENTIONS ARE PURE, but that flag is a little confusing as to what it's exactly saying. Try to put yourself in the shoes of our black cardinals players right now after this weekend. How do you think they'd read that?

I don't see that banner as referring to race at all. To me it looks like it is referencing the song from Rawhide.

I was wondering if that was Rawhide. Only saying having a banner that says SHUT THEM UP might not play the way you want it to right now.

LOL, you're too young to have watched that!!!

That's the other thing... it's such an outdated song which is why Rawhide didn't click immediately with me and the only reason o actually know Rawhide is The Blues Brothers.

Just saying... for generations who have no clue what rawhide is (which I'm guessing that is A LOT especially on NFL sidelines) that sign might not be saying what you want it to in the context of this weekend's events.

Cheesebeef, yup woke up today and realized the same thing after all the protests Sunday. Will post new banner message pic shortly which will not offend anyone - except Dak.

What impresses most about this is something that is super rare in this country right now... the ability to take a step back and reverse course when things happen to change the situation. The sensitivity you showed in changing the banner is something so SORELY lacking in society right now and I just wanted again to say I continue to be impressed by you and your crew for what you do for the fans, team and hell... this week, the damn country, choosing to pour water on a fire instead of gasoline.

Good on you Jack!

sack dack is great.

So is dallas sucks

Dallas Sucks would have been awesome in it's simplicity. Sometimes we try to be too clever... as a writer, I'm consistently guilty of that!

in the wake of what happened this weekend, I think it's a little hard to separate politics and sports. this board, what we saw at the games, what we heard from members of the administration seems to be proof of that at least right now.

and I'm coming around on SACK DAK.

that banner doesn't always have to be the wittiest wordsmith of the day. Sometimes simplicity is better.

Thanks for the kind words, cheesbeef. MadJack always strives to do the right thing which doesn't always please everyone.

But hey, that's why the Cardinals have allowed the banner for the past 25 years. I've earned their trust and respect and would never jeopardize the privilege and honor for the ONLY banner allowed at UOP.

it's really pretty freaking sick that it's the only banner that's allowed up. Still super confused why they didn't let you hang the Biscuit banner last year. That banner's been MUCH funnier/offered biting criticism in the past.
