As Nikola Jokic's incredible NBA career continues to unfold, it's becoming increasingly clear that the perennial MVP-caliber superstar is a unicorn. The Denver Nuggets center plays a brand of stellar basketball unique to himself and only himself. You cannot wholly compare how he plays the game as a passing big man to anyone else in basketball history.
However, if you simply had to pick one NBA legend to juxtapose Jokic to, it might be Los Angeles Lakers' legendary guard Magic Johnson. Like Johnson, Jokic routinely puts his teammates into ideal scoring positions with precision passing, often doing it in style and with tremendous flair. And Jokic, like Johnson, revolutionized passing at their respective positions with their size. For a good reason, these two are arguably the two greatest passers of all time.
After Jokic's latest ridiculous assist to Aaron Gordon in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, it seems Johnson likely agrees with any comparisons of himself to the Serbian talisman.
Johnson makes a very fair point. It's impossible not to see incredible no-look passes like this from Jokic and NOT compare him to some of Johnson's most memorable assists when he shined with the Lakers in the 1980s. The resemblance is uncanny.
Jokic is one of a kind. But it's hard not to see some Johnson in him. And that's one of the best possible compliments you can pay to the big man.

Reminds me of a pass I made back in the day against Utah The Joker’s passing and ability to score anywhere on the basketball court makes him the best player in the NBA along with Giannis! https://t.co/i0FY6AqXwI
