Maignan crucial again, Theo disappoints: Player ratings for Milan-Fiorentina from Italian papers

Yesterday’s clash between AC Milan and Fiorentina ended 2-2 after yet another comeback by the Rossoneri. As highlighted by the newspapers this morning, a few players did really well for the home side, while others struggled.

Starting with the best player on the pitch, i.e. the MOTM, Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport – see photos below – both agreed that it was Mike Maignan at 8/10. The goalkeeper continued his good form with several great saves, including a 1v1 on Moise Kean.

As for the worst, however, the newspapers didn’t agree as Gazzetta decided to give it to Yunus Musah at 4/10 after the big mistake on the first goal. Corriere dello Sport, meanwhile, gave it to Fikayo Tomori for his defending on both goals (4.5/10).

The goalscorers Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic were also praised, as you would expect, with both newspapers giving the Englishman a 7/10. The Serbian got a 7/10 from Corriere dello Sport and a 6.5/10 from Gazzetta.
