I would love to see the Phoenix Suns sign this guy to a small contract. He is 7-0, 255 pounds. He's not going to come in and solve all of the Phoenix Suns problems in the middle, but I think he could help for 10-20 minutes per game. He can score, block shots, rebound, and run pretty well.

I was thinking about him the other day as a possible second or third option off the bench. Tonight I started watching one of the summer league games between the LA Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks. I was trying to figure out who this guy playing exceptionally well for the Clippers was. It turns out he is N'diaye.

N'Diaye would definitely help the Suns. If the Suns wind up with Richardson, he's be a nice target for the pittance they'd have left to spend.

With the way this summer has gone, though, there's almost no point in saying, "I'd like player X for Y dollars", because you can be sure he'll wind up with at least $Z. :p

I was very upset when the Suns didn't make a move for this guy in the draft a few years ago. He's a 7-foot shotblocker who can run. That's about all he does in league play, but what more could the guard-heavy Suns want at that position? The kid is still learning how to play the game, but he has a natural athleticism and very good size as a starting block. I'd take him over a lot of the more skilled big men mentioned as possible Suns interests. If he's available, I can't believe the Suns haven't already made overtures.

I thought that he was a restricted FA but just went to realgm.com and he was listed as unrestricted. Sounds like a much better investment than Ostertag, sign him.

Just to be clear, he's not even a C+ center at this point. He couldn't do much more than get in the way on offense -- can't pass, doesn't know what to do around the basket, etc. It's the reason he's bounced around so much. Still, for an organization that's had maybe three legitimate NBA centers since 1968 (Neil Walk, Mark West, Andrew Lang -- four if you count Mr. High Post, Alvan Adams), I can't believe they'd be so concerned with a 5 with hands and offensive skills. They've already got two of those guys on the roster who can't play a lick of defense.

I'd take N'diaye and his ABA offensive skills in a heartbeat. He won't be a distraction in the lockeroom, either. I'm sure Charles would be proud -- Mamadou is Auburn's all-time blocks leader. And a nice "oh, by the way": He shoots about 75% from the FT line.

I would guess the Suns are going to scouting the summer leagues, the Olympics, and everywhere else because the WILL find a warm body somewhere. However, right now I'm guessing it will be Harvey again.

They will go with what they are comfortable with: Scott Williams.

this team is going to be really small - Besides Amare - there's not one guy who is a legit post or power player - it'll be an interesting year. This post was completely pointless.

I would take Ostertag in a minute, and I don't even like him.

Ostertag is going to want more money that Mamadu and a longer contract.

If Q becomes a Sun, the team will add one more inside guy. Whether it is Mamadu, Scott Williams, or Harvey I don't think they will get someone who will do much.

Realistically, the Suns will play at lot of "small ball" with Marion or Zarko at the PF position. I really wish Zarko was spending the summer in the weight room.

If the Suns get Q, which I highly doubt, then they will sign Scott Williams and our roster will be complete for the year, unless they trade Marion, which I am against at this point.

The looking like a goon is a given and should be incentive clause. We all want one guy to just occupy space in the middle but I think it would be beneficial if he was athletic.

I would take Greg Ostertag over N'diaye in a heartbeat if money wasn't an option. However money has to be considered. N'diaye has a nice turnaround jump shot from the baseline.

Steve Nash
Joe Johnson
Leandro Barbosa
Howard Eiseley
Quentin Richardson*
Casey Jacobsen
Zarko Cabarkapa
Shawn Marion
Jake Voskuhl
Amare Stoudemire
Macej Lampe
Jackson Vroman

That's 12 players under contract assuming Richardson's offer is not matched which is a very unsafe assumption.
