As the D'backs look toward their 8th season, they have named 4 Managers. Three, if you overlook Wally Backman's four days. That's one every three years.

The Suns have made 9 Head Coaching changes in the past 19 years. An average of just about one every two years.

Is this typical for today's sports fans and our nation's 30-second sound byte attention span?

Or is it a reason why the D'backs will be heading into a disaster season . . . and why the Suns are the longest term franchise without a championship?

And does it indicate lack of preparation or some other shortcomings in the Colangelo legacy?

The numbers are there. The question is why.

What are your opinions?

Anybody know anything at all about the Rockies' guy they just tabbed as Assistant GM?

the Diamondbacks have reached an agreement with former Colorado Rockies general manager Bob Gebhard to become assistant general manager. Gebhard, 61, replaces Sandy Johnson, who recently left the organization to become a senior adviser for the New York Mets.

Bob Gebhard has a reputation of being a knowledgeable baseball guy.

If I were Joe, Jr., I wouldn't pay to have any more business cards made up.
