Manchester City announce Asia partnership to bolster continental growth after Abdukodir Khusanov signing

Manchester City have announced Wake-Up 247 as the club’s newest official energy drink partner in Vietnam to further establish a foothold in Asia.

The Premier League champions boast a sensational following in the world’s largest continent and their fame in Uzbekistan has only risen since the signing of defender Abdukodir Khusanov in January.

Khusanov’s arrival from RC Lens for a reported fee north of £33 million has witnessed a surge in fans from Uzbekistan purchasing tickets to watch the 21-year-old feature for the four-in-a-row Premier League champions.

Being the first player from Uzbekistan to play in the English top-flight, Khusanov has already made a huge impact on Asian football after quickly cementing himself as one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet amidst an injury crisis in defence.

Recently, City have further strengthened their foothold in south-east Asia by partnering with Wake-Up 247 – with whom the co-launch of branded products will feature the Manchester City badge and imagery of first-team stars Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City will also aid the Vietnamese drink company to grow beyond its borders by providing their latest partner with LED advertising across the Etihad Stadium on matchdays, as reported by Insider Sport.

Thang Truong Cong, CEO of Masan Consumer Holdings – parent company of Wake-Up 247 – said: “We are thrilled to partner with Manchester City, an organisation that shares our commitment to continuously improving and embracing any opportunity.

“At Wake-Up 247, we are committed to inspiring consumers to embrace their challenges head-on, fuel their ambition, and push forward with determination. This partnership is a perfect match, as both Wake-Up 247 and Manchester City aim to inspire everyone to achieve greatness.”

Kaitlyn Beale, Vice President of Global Partnership Sales at City Football Group, added: “We are pleased to announce our regional partnership with Wake-Up 247, as we welcome the brand to our extensive partner portfolio.

“The club has a passionate following across Asia, including in Vietnam, and we look forward to working with Wake-Up 247 on new and engaging ways to interact with our fans.”
