Manchester City are making moves to keep a young starlet at the club
One player who has caught the eye for Manchester City’s under-18 side this season is Divine Mukasa. Mukasa has starred this season and has shown his prodigious talent and playmaking ability in the under-18’s rise to the top of the table. As per transfermarkt.com Mukasa has scored 15 goals and added 25 assists in 35 appearances this season. Those numbers alone highlight his tremendous playmaking ability and eye for goal. He is one young player that City simply must keep hold of.
Fabrizio Romano has reported via his official X account that Manchester City are planning to extend Divine Mukasa’s contract with the club. Furthermore, Romano reports that Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen have sent scouts to watch Mukasa play over the past month.
It is a wise move from Manchester City to attempt to extend Divine Mukasa’s contract. The young attacking midfielder appears destined to develop into a fine player. He has been a cut above the competition in the under-18’s this season and he does appear to be far too good for that level. The hope is that Mukasa can be included in Manchester City’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. That should give him a taste of first-team football at Manchester City. The hope is from there, he can be included in City’s first team from next season and beyond.
Summary.
Divine Mukasa appears destined for the very top. It is no surprise to see Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen monitoring his progress. At some point Mukasa is going to breakthrough at the the highest level. The hope is that his breakthrough comes at Manchester City. Based on Romano’s new report it appears that City are intent on keeping him at the club. It’s easy to see why based on his impressive showings this season a s his prodigious talent.
