No. 1 seed Auburn sailed through the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament, defeating Alabama State 83-63 on Thursday, and will meet the Creighton University Blue Jays on Saturday. No. 9 seed Creighton defeated No. 8 Louisville in the first round to advance, earning a spot in the tournament after finishing second in the Big East behind St. John's University.
