Marcus Rashford is expected to be fit to face West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday night. The Manchester United striker missed England’s friendly against Ireland and Nations League games with Belgium and Iceland after suffering a tear in a shoulder during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal just under three weeks ago. Although the problem did not prevent Rashford from playing in his club’s subsequent matches against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League and the 3-1 win at Everton, it had caused some bleeding and bruising and United and England’s medical teams agreed he needed a period of rest. Rashford is understood to have been back in the gym this week building up his strength and fitness and is optimistic about facing West Brom in what would be a boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer given the manager’s other injury concerns. Anthony Martial sat out France’s 4-2 win over Sweden on Tuesday with a back problem that had flared during the victory against Portugal three days earlier.
