Another green jacket will be handed out on Sunday to the winner of the 2025 Masters Tournament. Around half of the golfers who qualified for the tournament will make it to the weekend, however.
That's because of the cut line, which is implemented in most PGA Tour events. Golfers must qualify for the third and final round of the Masters based on their score.
The bar is set higher at the Masters than in regular PGA Tour events, as normally the top 70 golfers, including those tied, make the cut. It's much harder to make to the Saturday and Sunday rounds at Augusta National.
Here's everything to know about the cut rule for the Masters in 2025:

For the Masters, only the top 50 golfers, including ties, reach the weekend. It doesn't matter if the person just outside that group is only a few strokes back from the lead. They won't make the cut to Saturday and Sunday.
The rule was changed for the 2020 Masters, as the cut rule used to be top 50 and ties plus those within 10 strokes of the leader. The 10 strokes of the leader rule has been eliminated since that year.
The cut line for the 2024 Masters was at 6-over par, which is a more than achievable score for most professionals at the top of their game. There were 89 golfers in 2024, and 60 reached the weekend rounds.
