That'd be cool. He was a local High school phenom when I was in high school in the same general area. It's be strange to see him in a suns uni.

Barnes would be OK. I'd prefer Casey J, who has a decent all-around game plus he can shoot the three, but what do I know, right?

He is a 6' 7" small forward and I hope he can play defense, because it does not look like he can score much.
He has not played much. Not sure about this deal............?

OK, if this holds true. We should be in great shape for a championship run this year. :sarcasm:

Well, one thing is for certain, we need to keep the lid on this before BC in Toronto catches wind of it. If he does, we might lose Barnes also.

Nonsense--think of all the money Robert Sarver is going to pocket this season! ;)

While I must admit that Mr. Sarver seems to be highly excitable I do not find him to be exciting at all.

Say hello to Mr. 3000!!!

I know its not much to some of you but I have 2 jobs where I can't post and 2 young children and a beautiful wife that take up the rest of my time. I would like to send a special thank you out to the all of them and also the academy. I'd also like to send a special thanks out to all the antagonists out there that helped to fuel my spirit and inspire me to post countless meaningless thoughts and hours of boorish dribble.

God bless you all. Peace out.

Maybe one of us should email BC so he can snatch him up.

Who knows? Maybe he would be a good 12th man on the roster. I've never seen him play.

Grats Devil. Though George will over-take you soon in less than half the time. :) Oh.. and I've been on this board almost as long as you and have yet to break 500 posts. :p

I guess most of the guys who live in the 3k+ posts have either been around for years, or they post in the Cardinal board. I mainly just post here, but in a year I haven't been able to break 500 either. I am always surprised at the number of people in that message room on average... I mean, it is the Cardinals. Calm down folks, now that the Cowboys signed the devil (TO), I will be rooting for the Cardinals until the devil leaves Dallas. That is hard to admit, but even somethings I can't turn a blind eye to.

I'd take Barnes as one of the last guys on my roster any second of the week.

He's not a special shooter, ball handler, passer, rebounder, or defender...BUT, he's not bad at any of those traits. He's a complete basketball player with no special skills, but he also has another important trait: He's a gamer, he can do anything on the floor that needs to be done.

If we sign him to sit at or near the end of the bench, then consider our team improved.

Wasted, I hope I will be back soon - ie, TO gets kicked off the team soon. Doesn't it turn your stomach to have him wearing the silver and blue? I mean, I know others that have struggled with personal problems wore the STAR, but TO is just the devil. You have to understand, since I was a little boy, it has been Cowboys forever... I almost can't sleep at night.

I've learned to accept it. If he can help Dallas win, then it's worth it, even for just 1 year. I'm half expecting him to blow up eventually, but it should be a fun ride until that point. There's no denying that he is a top 3 receiver, and will help Dallas IMMENSLY.

C'mon now, a true fan doesn't bail because of one signing!

And.....back to the Suns.

Barnes is one of those guys that does nothing extremely well but a lot of things well enough to have gotten by. At UCLA for 2 years we kept hearing this kid is going to bust out, he's a much better shooter than he's shown, the shooting never really materialized. He had a nice finish to his career but he's not a scorer. Decent rebounder for his size.

He's athletic he can certainly run with the Suns but he's not going to score much.

Funny thing--I'm a big fan of T.O., but I can't stand the Cowboys. My dislike for the Cowboys is probably stronger than any NFL team affiliation I have left.

Takes all kinds, I suppose.

BUMP....

I wonder if the suns will sign Barnes now?

Maybe he can be a 6' 7" defender that they will need occasionally.

I think their top priority is going to be a power guy who can play defense and rebound. Right now the Suns have Amare, KT, Boris and Burke inside with SF's Marion and Jones for small ball.

Marcus Fizer would be an AWESOME acquisition at this point. The perfect fit, albeit not possible, would be Massenberg. If we could rotate Massenberg and Thomas for 40 minutes at the 5 and bring in Stoudemire and Diaw for the remaining 8 minutes there, we'd be so stocked....

There is no doubt the suns need and hopefully will sign a big. In fact I think it is extremely important they do so.

The reason for my bumping this thread is that they now have 11 players with the polish rifleman and Banks. Last year they carried 14. They only have to carry 13, but if they sign Lampe, another big, and then Barnes to a minimum contract that would be 14.

I think Lampe and Barnes are worth a minimum contract if they will carry 14 players. With Nash, Banks, and Barbosa at their size and Bell not a lot bigger, maybe a true 6' 4", a 6' 7" swing guy would be nice to have. My two cents!

I still have my doubts about Fizer. There's a reason he couldn't stick in the NBA, however good his statistics are in the minor leagues.
