He had his shot to make the roster tonight and I think he failed. Missed the passes thrown his way.

I love this guy, and think he is the future #3 wr if BJ leaves...can we skate him to the PS or do you think he will get picked up on waivers?

I think he lost his shot at the roster though...he's raw and has a lot of talent but won't make the final five

Q
Larry
BJ
Breaston
Morey

That's my five to make it

maybe, maybe waterbug will beat out morey.

You seriously missed his catches? I thought he looked decent tonight...not spectacular like last week...He had to go to the ground for his catches last night.

If he doesn't make the team he will not last a minute on the Ps...!!! He will be taken by another team who needs a good young receiver. Guy's get a clue this kid could become our # 3 this season.

Wouldn't it be nice to see someone strat offering conditional draft picks for OUR players that are on the bubble?
We are so long on receivers. Too bad we can't find a team a little long on a LB or two.

Here is another thought. Fitz is very unhappy here it seems, he hasn't bought into Lotts workout regiment, has played not up to his potential in Pre-season, dropped passes and the one in the end zone last night looked awfully strange to me being that he has made this type of catch in the end zone before.

So let us trade him to Pitts for Fanica, and either one of their better linebackers, or better safeties. I know that you think that I am crazy, but cap wise it would work for us. and we would then have one of the best OL's in our division, and a better defense. Just maybe, BJ or Tranon or our new punt returner may fill the void left by fitz. Next year the Draft is loaded with some good young WR's.

Ridiculous!

A) Cap wise, it's totally impossible. Trading Fitz and adding Faneca would mean cutting a handful of players just to make it fit.

B) You know nothing about whether he's "bought into" Lott's system. I've heard nothing bad from the coaches about him.

C) There's no way in hell anyone puts Trannon on their active roster. He'll be on our practice squad.

Get a clue? An undrafted free agent, picked up by another team, which requires that they place him on the 53 man roster!. What team would give up an all-important roster spot at this point for a raw, unproven rookie?

Clued in or clueless, he's either our 6th receiver or he's going to our PS, at best.

*** At this point, he's our undrated flavour of the off-season. This camps' Leron McCoy.

(A) What our we paying Fitz, peanuts...???

(B) So you must have missed Jody's interview with Fitz last night at the game. She stated it and he didn't say that she was wrong either; just stated that just look at him to see how good of shape he was in. He is stile fuming over Denny getting fired.

(C) We just might be surprised by Him making our team.

I don't think Trannon helped or hurt himself. Thing is - with so much competiton at the WR position, if a guy didn't flash something, it put him at a disadvantage. The good news is that none of the WR's fighting for spots #4 - #6 did much to distinguish themselves, so I wouldn't count Trannon out.

I've taken a liberal view toward who might or might not be on the bubble. I broke all the bubble guys into three categories, and I count 25 guys (who hurt themselves or didn't step up) trying to survive 21 cuts:

Helped Selves
McCoy (kind of iffy here), Tafoya (despite penalty), Castille, Celestin, Blackstock, Bailey, Holloway,

Hurt Selves
Boyd, Campbell, Spurlock, Euhus, Kolodziej (injured), Keeler, Vallejo, Mitchell

Not Mentioned on Radio or Didn't Help or Hurt Self
Vercher, Shor, Peters, B Johnson, Taufago, Wyatt, Brown, Adams, Baylark, Gorin, Badger, J Lewis, Pope, Bienemann, Patrick, Pace, Trannon

Trannon was one of those guys who wasn't "invisible" but whose performance was a mixed bag (i.e. one or two catches, a couple of lost battles for jump balls, was jobbed by the officials who ignored a flagrant interference call).

Why on earth would you want to trade an up and coming Pro Bowl Receiver for an (albeit Pro Bowl) Offensive Lineman with maybe a couple years left ?

How old is Fanica anyway ?

A) His kajillion dollar bonus would be accelerated to hit the cap this year, and his salary is not nearly as big as that. We have 2 million left. On cap terms alone, trading him is absurd. Not to mention trading a young Pro Bowler for a guy at the end of his career would be stupid on it's own terms.

B) I saw the interview, and you just contradicted your own "insight" from the earlier post.

c) Yeah, I'd be surprised considering he does NOTHING on special teams and WRs 4 to 6 have to contribute in that area.

No, he didn't say anything like that and neither did the wraith that is Jody Jackson.

And for that matter, there was a highly commented on article in a mainstream paper about Fitz being focused on the game and the team despite his long time friend Denny being gone.

You are blowing smoke up some orifices with this nonsense. Please stop.

Yeah, I missed his catches I guess. I did notice a lot of drops and t-rex arms. Believe me, I love the guy since the day I saw him in camp and NOBODY wants him to make the team more than I do, but he didn't look good out there.
