God, I hate the Broncos. I hope they fail on and off the field for the rest of my life.

The bronco fans will be calling for McDaniel's head mid-season. Kyle Orton isn't half the QB that Cutler is, tough situation for Micky D, don't see it working out too well.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Cutler is a great QB and is probably better, but Orton can be good too.

ditto, can we please stop playing this dumb team in pre-season...

Exactly. I realize that San Diego and Denver are closest to us and that's why we play them almost every preseason. But, i can't stand Denver's cut blocking and blitzing like it's the second half of the Super Bowl in the last preseason game. Maybe McDaniels will dial that down a bit, but I really don't care. I hate their fans, their horrible uniforms and everyone who has played for them.

There is no amount of pain from losing for Broncos fans that will ever make me give them even an iota of sympathy. I'll tell you how bad that is, I'd rather see the Raiders beat the Broncos than vice-versa.

I think Orton's game is ugly, but it's still good enough to win and I'm rooting for him.
No matter who starts at QB for the Broncos, I think the offense will get along fine.

I don't get this square-peg/round-hole thing that the Broncos are trying to do on defense, personnel wise, I always thought they were more inline to play a Tampa 2, vs a 3-4 base.

The Cardinals took a similar gamble though when Whiz took over, but there was more fluidity to the looks and was never a "true" 3-4.

Wow, I didn't realize Orton is 6'-4". I always thought he was a shorter QB. I thought Simms had the size advantage on him but they are both the same height and about the same weight.

Anyway, it should be an interesting battle this summer. I'm sure the Denver brass wants Orton to win the job and then succeed on the field but if it's a straight up competition I don't know which of them fits better with what McDaniels wants to do.

The Bears' record when Orton starts the last three years is 21-12 which is pretty impressive and I think his numbers are somewhat skewed on the downside due to the general struggles that the Bears have on offense with talent and production.

Simms was struggling the first three games the year he got hurt but had a pretty good previous year on another team that is a virtual QB killer. Both he and Orton are career 71 rating guys.

Marshall(if he can keep from getting suspended again) and Royal provide some nice tools to implement whatever type of offense McDaniels wants to run so assuming the system was what made NE productive, Simms or Orton should have a pretty decent year. I think either of them could have done what Cassel did last year in NE given the same situation, especially if they been put there with the experience they currently have.
