Just listened to it. Here are my takes:
1. Props to McD for going on 21 minutes and the props to Doug and Wolf for asking pretty good questions without being combative or rude.
2. "I take full responsibility and I know my staff and I are on the clock." Slipped by. Most arent saying much about it. Sounds like Sarver has put McD on notice and he has some sort of deadline he is working under. He also did not sound convincing when he said he felt he had the support of Robert Sarver. As much as I like McD, he is not going to be around much longer. I am thinking Steve Nash as GM (not coach) soon. That move would be so much like Sarver.
3. Made it clear that the choices regarding Morris were made by coaching staff, mgmt and ownership all together. Odd.
4. Liked what he said about younger players. He also said he wants more discipline in a nurturing environment. Sounds like Horny knew he wasn't coming back and just gave up and let the players do what they want. If that was the case, the opportunity to properly develop young players would be lost.
5. Was clear that Watson is interim head coach. Also clear that he would be considered as a candidate. It is clear that the development of the young players is the most important goal from here on out, so if Watson wants the job long term, that is what he will have to do. Wins are not the point.
6. If Sarver is convinced he has to make a mgmt change, I hope he waits until after the draft. McD does pretty good with the draft and a new team would be at a scouting disadvantage coming in.
