Is it me or just it seem like verytime Mcfadden is thrown at he has his back turn to the ball its frustrating. I hope he continues to work on this he has the skills to be a great corner he his a great tacker and a very aggresive player.

McFadden's 28...it seems pretty unlikely he'd learn to look for the ball at this point.

It's very annoying. They did a replay of our D one time to show how Favre had no one to throw to because our coverage was so good. They showed McFadden and there is running blindly with his WR, he never turns his head. Luckily this hasn't cost us too much, but he really needs to get it drilled into his head that you can't make a play on the ball if you can't see the ball. He was lucky they didn't call PI on him last night covering I think rice on a 3rd down.

It cost us the Titans game. Fourth play from scrimmage, fourth down. Had his back to the ball allowing Britt to reach around him and make the catch.

McFadden is more of a zone guy. Which means McFadden is more used to facing the QB, keeping the receiver in front of him and breaking on his man. (By contrast, DRC is more of a man-cover guy - adept at turning and going).

Conversely, DRC is still learning how to tackle. McFadden is a more consistent tackler. DRC is still learning how to string out and blow up sweeps whereas McFadden already has that technique down.

It's just a matter of training, background and style. What we should hope for is that DRC learns what McFadden already knows and McFadden becomes better at man-coverage.

Well, while it is nice McFadden can tackle I'd take a guy that can cover better than he can tackle 10 times out of 10 ;) And to his credit, DRC has been better at wrapping guys up the past few games. I do believe he took down AP in the open field yesterday.

Bothered me as much as the tipped pass being caught. He turns around and swats the ball away and we win.

McFadden is what he is: a decent corner. He's not great at everything, but he;s really good at somethings (tackling) and good enough at others (man coverage) that he's a starter at the highest level in his sport.

I'm happy he's a cardinal.

Dude is playing very good, even in coverage. Only allowing 57% completion rate to his man, only allowing 86 rating (DRC allowing 83), and has only allowed 1 TD in 12 games. Two or Three lapses do not make a season.

as reasonably priced corners go -- I have absolutely no issue with McFadden

I liked Hood's tight coverage but he didn't to turn and look for the ball either.
MacFadden is a carbon copy of hood.
If he throws his arms up and hits the ball before he runs into a WR then all's good otherwise its DPI

Except that he is an exceptional leader and tackles like a safety.

McFadden is just solid, he should be the least of our concerns on the defense. I mean I don't expect him to make any breathtaking picks but I'm also not terrified of teams throwing short or deep on him. As joe brought up he has a good completion against pct. and I would bet he is above average for passes defensed. He is having a good season by my standards and we got exactly what we paid for, if not more.
