Forget the trades with the Browns dudes.
We've got #3 and DG wants and gets Fitz:
(Rd.1) Larry Fitzgerald-6'3"-220-Pittsburgh-WR. Best hands in the draft. Catches passes on the run and doesn't lose speed. Jumps well and gets those endzone catches over smaller opponents. Great route runner who catches poorly thrown balls. Good person and friend of DG. No brainer....but I thought Suggs was a no brainer last year.
(Rd.2) Derrick Straight-5'11"-190-Oklahoma-CB. Late first rounder or early second rounder. I think he's there at #33. Lacks elite speed so some will pass. Aggressive when ball is thrown. Small but strong and aggressive. Excellent instincts and is a playmaker.
(Rd.3) Teddy Lehman-6'2"-240-Oklahoma-LB. The O that I root for is Ohio but Straight and Lehman were just too productive in college for us to pass on them. This guy attacks...attacks...and attacks some more. Is mean...instinctive.....aggressive....and tough. Solid tackler and has the speed to make tackles all over the field. DG thinks our LBer position needs an upgrade and Fisher is hurt.
(Rd.4) Nick Leckey-6'3"-295-Kansas State-OL. My third Big 8 guy in a row. Hard worker and has a nasty side but is probably not a first day draft guy. Can play guard or center. Does a decent job on traps and pulls.
(Rd.5) Clarence Farmer-5'11"-220-Arizona -RB. Enough of the defense already....even though I think we should and will concntrate on that aspect...DG loves fast running backs ie Robert Smith of Ohio State.....DG also can handle those with societal questions ie Randy Moss. Farmer has the size....speed.....and running skills to be an NFL starter. Can he stay motivated and healthy?
(Rd. 6) Josh Buhl-5'11"-210-Kansas State-DB. Since he played OLB in college most have him at that and therefore with his size push him to the bottom levles of the draft. What's this Big 8 fetish I have? His approach to the game....work ethic.....and athletic ability make him an easy day 2 pick.
(Rd.7) Robert Reynolds-6'4"-245-Ohio State -LB. You didn't think I could go an entire mock without an Ohio State player now did ya? This guy is a long snapper. A long snapper who can play inside or outside LBer and contribute. Is a physical...powerful....aggressive...blue collar tackler. Has played inside and outside.
Can't wait until April 24!!!
