Just go finished playing the demo. I have mixed feelings about it. I mean it appears to be a really good game. The graphics are pretty darn good and the audio is top notch. Also, the AI is pretty darn good too. The enemy tried to flank you. They also cover and lay down cover fire so the rest of them can move up on you.

One of the coolest points is that you can actually start anywhere on the map. When you parachute in, you choose where you land. It's not predetermined so you can basically complete the objectives in the order you want. Pretty cool idea.

However, despite all that I think the WW2 shooter is sort of played out. How many times can you shoot 100 axis on your way to victory. I am sure I will buy this game but it might be my last WW2 shooter. They really need to give it a rest and revisit it down the road.

I just played around with the PC demo for a few minutes. For some reason menus feel really sluggish even though the game itself runs well. The controllable parachute drops are a great idea and make the game feel so much more open ended than the usual "go from point a to b" type shooter. Even though the whole WWII thing has been really played out, both this and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (which is by far the best of the three main WWII series of games) look like a shot in the arm to a genre that beforehand was becoming pretty mundane.

They'll keep cranking them out until developers find another war where the "bad guys" are still considered "bad guys" that can be shot in the groin with out running the risk of being sued.

But it's not politically correct to make video games where they're the root of all evil.

Everyone hates Nazis.

Plus, since the major Nazi movement was 60+ years ago, none of the surviving members will come out of hiding to sue EA Games.

The Ghost Recon series has made a good living off of portraying existing countries and groups like Cuba, North Korea, and Russian rebels as the enemy without getting themselves sued.

Isn't the Ghost Recon series set in the future?

Somewhere along the way I sort of got hooked on this demo. Plus, I have tried a couple of mods already released for the demo. Yep, some moders already moded the game.

The first Mod turns all the Italian soldiers into elite German soldiers which makes it more difficult and the AI a tad better. The other mod allows you to obtain the upgrades faster.

Last but not least I used a guide to turn the console on during gameplay. This actually allows you to enter (using the Ghost or Fly) commands to go to a part of the map that you don'g get to play because the demo ends. it also allows you to get the Springfield Sniper rifle from that location then use it for the rest of the demo.

I think I am officially going to buy this game the day it's released.
