They played some of those tapes on MSNBC this morning. Besides Mel sounding like he's a certified nut, the tapes sound fake. The way she is talking (tone and clarity) just seem scripted.
Granted the "expert" on the program said that he believes it's real and the clarity is because she's recording it. But the way she's talking just seems so monotone and scripted.
This is how I would imagine it would be if a woman was married to Mel's character from Lethal Weapon.

There is no excuse for what he did.
That being said, it sounds like he suspects her of cheating on him and basically blowing $5 million.
I wonder if he was the one who was taping the calls if she would have sounded like the psycho and he the one all calm and cool.
His ex-wife was interviewed and she said he was never abusive and a good father to their kids, and this is from a spurned woman.
I think the girlfriend is really pushing his buttons and is trying to take him.
They are both idiots and deserve each other.

Interesting. Medical examiners state that there is no soft tissue damage consistent with being struck, just the veneers are off. Maybe she used pliers or something to get the veneers off?

The guys on the Jason Ellis Show on Sirius played a game with this. They spun a wheel and a Mel Gibson quote would come up. They then had to text the quote to their wives. It was hilarious how agonized they were about saying some of the stuff he says to their wives. Good stuff.
