Mil Kiper Jr. sends the New York Jets a popular player connected to the team ahead of the 2025 NFL draft in his latest post-free agency mock.
Penn State tight end Tyler Warren is the selection for the Jets at the No. 7 overall pick from ESPN's NFL draft guru
Warren, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound senior, has a diverse skillet that can help transform an offense. With the Jets currently having a lot of questions with their team, specifically on offense, this could give them a sense of direction.
Tight ends don't typically get picked very high on draft night, but the talent Warren has would be one of the exceptions. In a game this past year against USC, Warren caught 17 passes for 224 yards and a score, which tied the record for the most catches in a game by a tight end in FBS history.
In total in 2024, Warren racked up 104 catches for 1,233 yards and 8 touchdowns. And, on the ground he added 26 carries for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Adding Warren could be one of the final pieces added to an overhauled offense for the Jets this offseason. Warren could be a safety option for new quarterback Justin Fields while also complementing No. 1 receiver Garrett Wilson.
Kiper's full breakdown on Warren to the Jets can be found below:

I like the idea of giving new quarterback signing Justin Fields help, and it could come in the form of pass protection or a playmaker. Missouri's Armand Membou would fit nicely at right tackle opposite Olu Fashanu, and that's one potential path for the Jets if the board falls this way. But consider how the Jets could use Warren.
At Penn State, Warren lined up in just about every imaginable formation, and he produced from all of them. He's special with the ball in his hands, accumulating 700 of his 1,233 yards last season after the catch. He would be a reliable safety valve over the middle, a seam stretcher and a red zone target for Fields.
