And people were worried about Lebron's attitude. Carmelo is quickly gaining support in his canidacy for "The best player I hate the most" award for the next decade (Since Malone is about to step out of office)

DENVER -- Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is pretty sure he will be watching the U.S. Olympic team on television this August.

Anthony said Wednesday he believes the USA Basketball selection committee has moved on without him.

"They've got their mind set on what they want," Anthony told the Rocky Mountain News. "Don't nothing include Carmelo. Nothing in the NBA includes me. You realize that?"

Anthony led all rookies in scoring this past season but finished second to Cleveland Cavaliers guard LeBron James in Rookie of the Year voting.

James will play for Team USA in the Aug. 13-29 Athens Games. Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, another rookie, also is expected to make the team. The roster already includes two small forwards, Shawn Marion and Richard Jefferson.

"I could wait four years for the next one," Anthony said of the Olympics. "Hopefully, I'll be globally known in four years."

yea he will be globally know in four years as the biggest cry baby in the nba. good god does this guy ever stop crying about what he should get? this guy isnt that good to be crying like this. if he were pippen in his prime then sure he could say something but my god this guy isnt the second coming of mj.

This guy needs to learn to just suck it up and keep his mouth shut. David Stern must be dying. He is trying to promote LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony as Magic-Bird II, and half of the new duo is crying like a whiny brat.

Thats true, but he pulled htis same stunt for the allstar game. He even said he deserved to be there over specific players, which is just being a bad sport.

I think it has less to do with the olympics, and more to do with the recognition....

It's going to be fun rooting against 'Melo. He seems to have these repeated episodes where he publicly airs his persecution complex, insulting other NBA pros left and right in the process. Plus, he seems to be a step below LeBron where talent is concerned.

It's got to be killing him that Dwyane Wade will make the Olympic team and he won't.
