Speculation on the radio suggests sweeping changes coming in the next week or so per Bickley and MJ

Speculation suggests Melvin will be fired with Chris Young being sent down to the minors.

That's fine as long as it doesn't mean Byrnes playing every day. I'd much rather see Chris Young bat .150 than Eric Byrnes.

Is there a player in the system that they can put in center?

What a pathetically sad statement... Not saying the majority of fans wouldn't agree. But it's that type of statement and this type of an issue that keeps this team in their underperforming mode.

Who in their right mind would prefer a .150 hitter?? Unless of course you're comparing him to Eric Byrnes... Ugghhhhhhhh.......:bang:

There's Gerardo Parra who's hitting .362/.459/.500 in AA ball who's known basically as an extreme contact hitter. Won't strike out that much but won't hit for extra bases much either. Talented prospect, but I get the impression he's still probably too raw for the big leagues at this time. Maybe the team just needs such an on base guy at the moment and can live without the rest of his game maturing for now. Can't really think of anybody else they'd be able to swap Young with right now. The only other option is Alex Romero in Reno, but we've already seen what he can do.

Might be a nice counter to Mark "Golden Sombrero" Reynolds.

If Eric Byrnes was let go would any team even pick him up?

Are you kidding? The Lincoln Saltdogs have been trying to acquire Byrnes for the past year now. They have a back-up outfield spot open on their roster.

I read somewhere that Parra is being called up. Don't know if it's true.
