Once the lowest-scoring team in the majors, the New York Mets are getting help from an increasingly powerful offense as they push for their first division title in nine years. After adding David Wright to the mix, the visiting NL East leaders will try to win for the 17th time in 23 games Tuesday night when they face the Philadelphia Phillies. New York was averaging an MLB-low 3.55 runs Aug. 2 but has scored 6.5 per contest while hitting 33 homers in 19 games since.
