Micah Rochester has resigned after one season as Kirkwood girls basketball coach.

"We respect Coach Rochester's decision and appreciate the hard work and dedication he has shown in his brief time as the girls basketball coach," athletic director Josh Stoeckl said in a news release. "He has left the program in a much stronger position, and we are confident that the foundation he laid will continue to propel the team forward."

Rochester coached the Cobras to a 10-15 record this season, which marked an improvement from their 6-21 record during their inaugural season in 2023-24. Kirkwood went 3-5 in District 13-4A play after going winless in the district the year prior, and reached the Region 7-4A tournament.

Rochester was an assistant for Kirkwood's boys team in 2023-24 and previously coached at Loretto and Springfield.

Per Stoeckl, Kirkwood will begin searching for a new girls basketball coach, its third in three seasons, in the coming days.
