Michigan basketball got something of a tough draw on multiple counts when it comes to the NCAA Tournament.
The Wolverines managed to beat Wisconsin for the second time this season, split with Maryland, and went 2-1 against Purdue, yet Michigan is seeded lower than all three teams in the NCAA Tournament. What's more, the maize and blue tip off on Thursday in Denver rather than getting the extra day due to playing on Sunday.
Now they will also have to stay up rather late, while playing a mile high.
The Wolverines are in the South region and are set to play a tough UC San Diego team that has the longest winning streak in the nation. CBS announced that Michigan basketball and UC San Diego will tip off at 10 p.m. EDT with the game being broadcast nationally on TBS.
According to KenPom, Michigan basketball is the No. 25 team in the country with the 47th offense and 14th defense. UC San Diego may be a 12-seed, but it isn't too far behind the Wolverines, at No. 36 overall, with the 57th offense and 30th defense.
The winner of the round of 64 matchup will play either Texas A&M or Yale in the round of 32.
