The final AP poll before the NCAA Tournament just dropped, and Michigan State basketball fell one spot down to No. 8 after their Big Ten Tournament loss to Wisconsin.
Interestingly, the associated press had Michigan State one spot lower than the Spartans' position in the NCAA Tournament field, where the No. 2 seeded Spartans are the No. 7 overall team in the bracket.
Michigan State was ranked at No. 7 in the AP poll last week, but fell one spot this week, partially because of their loss to the Badgers, but partially due to Tennessee winning the SEC Tournament and passing by the Spartans in the polls.
Of course, the AP poll before March Madness is one of the least interesting polls of the year, as rankings don't mean much in the winner-take-all tournament.
