He has his top 20 seniors regardless of position and a top 5 list for OT, C, and DT.

I think Mayock might be my favorite draft pundit right now just a tad higher then Rick Gosselin's projections and thehuddlereports analysis.

Note that these are seniors only. A couple of interesting notes.

If Mayock is already pumping up my boy Larry English as a top 12 senior then my hopes are probably already dashed of him flying under the radar for us. I think this kid is going to be great. Small school kid who I was able to finally watch first hand yesterday in the Independace bowl. It was clear that they made their whole gameplan around stopping English from wrecking havoc on them. Kid will be good.

Doesnt even have Luigs as his top Senior centers? I was always under the impression that he was in the top 3 at minimum. Anyone care to make a guess as to why he isnt in Mayocks top 5 senior centers? Someone who has actually watched him play before. Also interesting to note that he has Mack as the #2 and Unger as the #1. Which I tend to somewhat agree with, I dont think there is much seperating Mack from the other top centers.

This DT - Evander Hood of Mizz has intriuged me for some time now as a possible 3-4 DE if we end up needing one.

Aaron Curry is getting the love he deserves and he desereves to be a top 5 pick.

Another very interesting thing to note is that we thought our LB core was going to be our strength on the team this year, but that never happened and we could be in for a lot of moves in terms of 3-4 LB's of which Mayock has 7 of them that can work in a 3-4 D in his top 20. And thats just the Seniors. Great year to need LB's.

the beauty about #21--

there will be a highly rated LB that falls through the cracks as teams reach for skill positions and DTs

Clint Sintim of Virginia (ideal for the Cards)? --- Rey Maulaga of USC (an upgrade over Hayes)?

That's true too, but I'm only in the Dansby bandwagon if he signs a above average contract.

Max deals aren't my flavor. Or however the cool kids say it.

I've seen only a couple of USC games this year, but what about OLB? He's a little light in the seat measurement wise, but could be have the power, IF both Dansby and Hayes are around next year?

If we can retain Karlos, Brian Cushing would definitely be a nice upgrade to the linebackers. The only question I have about him is his durability.

I'm assuming this would be to replace Hayes?

He looks to have the right height for a OLB and his rangy, but at 250 it's a much risker bet then Rey.

Either way, I think both are ILB's by nature (again, with superlimited viewings).

Nah, Cushing would replace Chike or Laboy in the lineup. Hayes would get get to keep his spot with Cushing.

Maulaga seems to play much more physically than Hayes. Rey is a downhill guy with a nasty streak.

While Maulaga is likely rated higher than #21 -- linebackers tend to slide sometimes, and outside guys tend to go before inside guys -- and if Laurinitis goes before Rey, then I think he might be around.

Wonder what the chances of Oher falling to us is, after the juniors and RS soph. declare.

Oher in the 1st
Pass rushing LB/DE, or CB in the 2nd
and maybe center in the 3rd.

Luigs was part of an offense that ran 65% or more of the time under Houston Nutt.
Bobby Petrino took over his senior year and Luigs had to pass block. Something he wasn't used to doing. The whole line struggled.
The line was great at run blocking in '07, but it took a whole season to get the whole foward pass thing down.

I like Luigs a lot, but I wouldn't spend a high pick on him because I don't know how he would do in our pass 1st offense.
