Here's a guy who as the Broncos' OC the last few years:

* Helped Kyle Orton become the 4th top QB in passing yards in his final season in Denver.

* Revamped the Broncos' offense last year to accommodate the strengths of Tim Tebow and earned the #1 rank in rushing in the NFL...and into the second round of the playoffs.

* Has received raves from Peyton Manning this year.

Yeah, if nothing else, he has shown that he can adapt to the personnel he has and still win.

Have to think this is a long shot since Chicago has Cutler in place. Other than that, he sounds promising.

Would he want to re-unite with Tim Tebow in AZ? They had a magical year in 2011 together.

He's my favorite candidate because of the way he's willing to adapt to the talent he has and has had success with 3 totally different QBs.

I do not want a current OC, I want a guy with some experience because the Cardinal organization is not your normal coaching environment. I will take Andy Reid over McCoy any day if it is the Cardinals. If it was another team, I would be open to the possibility

I think this is the guy I most want out of the stated candidates. I like that he is flexible, and can win with whatever he's given. Peyton, Tebow, Orton. Ok. Roll the dice.

To me, one of the biggest qualities of a HC is the ability to be flexible and play your talent to the best of their abilities, and manage situations and people.

I don't want a HC coming in to call the offensive plays, or to call the defense. I want them to manage the GAME. Hire an OC and a DC that you trust to do their jobs, and you manage the game strategy, override the OC or DC if needed, and manage your team.

McCoy's ability to be flexible and fit his system to what was given to him, to me, is a sign of a manager of men that can become a hell of a HC. Strategic minds that flex their own system to fit the people are ultimately successful. Fitting square pegs into round holes is not.

Please no. I don't want anything to do with a guy playing "OC" with Peyton Manning on the roster

Looking at all the other candidate names out there, I don't think anyone out there has anything on their resume as impressive as winning with Tim Tebow as a starter. Again....he ran a successful offense that made it to the playoffs with Tim Tebow as his starting quarterback.

What about when he was OC for neckbeard, getting him huge numbers?

Or when he twisted his system to make Tim Teblows successful?

Or when he twisted it again to allow Peyton to be Peyton?

I don't find his resume impressive at all.

Both years with Orton, they never finished higher than 19th in points.

Getting to the playoffs with Tebow looks impressive, but that's the same as praising Whisenhunt for going 8-8 with Skelton. In reality, it was the defense and a lot of luck in close games. The Broncos just had the fortune of playing in a god awful division to get to the playoffs.

Don't the Broncos run a zone blocking scheme?

Our guys aren't really suited for that, are they?

Or would that improve our Oline?

I don't know about this guy, except for the fact that he appears to be flexible. When he had Tebow as his QB he had to adapt the offense to play to Tebow's strengths. Whisenhunt never seemed willing to adapt. I wonder how much that factors into this.

I dig what Reid did with McNabb for more than one season and his ability to go post season for such a long stretch in what was a tough division. I dig what he did with Vick if not for only one season. I dig the way he can make trades to his advantage for the most part. I dig the way he made up a game plan that awarded freaking Kevin Kolb offensive player of the week. I dig Reid over McCoy :)

Good post Mitch----McCoy is flexible enough to go with the flow just like Horton does on defense. He tailors the game to the talent given him. Won with Tebow at QB. That is remarkable. Got out of the way so that Manning did not have to overcome hurdles before he does his job. (Something Whiz never learned to do).

He is young enough to be a bright and enthusiastic leader of a team as HC, something this team sorely needs after Mr. Unemotional hiding behind his play sheet. He is smart enough to find what the talent can do well and then stress that.
