Milan Futuro in desperate need of three points against Pontedera – the situation
Milan Futuro will be up against Pontedera tomorrow afternoon and given they are in last place, a win is needed now more than ever for Massimo Oddo’s side.
Since Oddo took over the team from Daniele Bonera, who was sacked, the Rossoneri have only claimed one point (three games). In short, the situation is still dire and it’s clear that three points are needed against Pontedera tomorrow.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 CET and it will be played at home, namely Stadio Felice Chinetti. The reverse fixture ended 1-1 after a goal from Alex Jimenez who, of course, won’t be at Oddo’s disposal tomorrow as he’s currently with the first team.
Taking a closer look at the standings, Milan are in 19th with 23 points, as many as Sestri Levante and Legnano. The 20th placed team is relegated straight to Serie D, while those in 16th-19th engage in a relegation play-off, which is a two-legged tie (16th vs. 19th and 17 vs. 18th).
SPAL in 16th place are currently five points ahead of the Rossoneri so a win is needed to at least build some momentum. It should also be noted that if the 19th team finished more than eight points below the 16th-placed team, then there is no two-legged tie and instead automatic relegation.
