Sources close to Miller also indicated that his wife prefers to get back to the East Coast.

He may not have a choice in it. :D

I guess she's not impressed with Tucson, eh?

According to this story (http://www.kold.com/story/14589962/miller-and-maryland-have-mutual-interest) she's not very happy with the desert.

To make matters interesting it seems Miller's wife Amy has some allergy issues out here in the desert that could make a move back to the east coast more appealing. On Wednesday May 4th, she tweeted: "An all new low...allergic to everything in the desert! Doc can't believe it. Where can I hide?" She then followed that up with: "Might have to head back east or to the west doesn't matter just away from desert. Shots can't help soon enough."

If Miller is an "east coast guy" I wonder why he came here in the first place. If he is then I'm glad he's going now. I don't want the program to go through this crap twice a year.

I hope Byrne is smart enough to go after a guy like Pastner who wants to be here for the long haul. Pastner is as good a recruiter as Miller, just not as good at game preparation and in-game coaching, yet.

Not really. If/when Miller leaves we plug in Josh Pastner and we're fine.

Pastner just signed a 5-yr salary doubling contract less than 6 weeks ago. He's in Memphis for a while.

I'd love him to come back, but it is just not going to happen.

Pastner would never say no to UA and especially Lute. If we want him he's ours.

So? Coaches' contracts don't buy loyalty when a better offer comes around. Just ask Sean Miller who signed a 5 year deal 2 years ago.

If Miller is an "east coast guy" I wonder why he came here in the first place.

He never visited UA before getting hired. He also likely didn't know the desert was going to make his wife's sinuses explode before hand. You don't really know if you're going to like a place until you've tried it, even a short visit to a place doesn't give you the feel.

Pastner of course knows Tucson well and would love getting the job. You guys don't have anything to worry about long term if Miller leaves and you bring Pastner in. Maybe you lose one of your recruits this year and someone who's signed down the line, but you'll be OK.

The near hiring of Floyd was a much bigger disaster than this current situation.

I am sure the job is Miller's if he wants it. I just find it interesting that Dixon is a now being mentioned as a candidate. I think Maryland is using him as leverage to see if Miller will come to a quick decision. I could see Dixon taking the job but Miller is Maryland's first choice.

Losing Miller will hurt East Coast recruiting as more than likely Book and Whitford will follow him. Josh is a great recruiter but Book has so many ties on the East Coast its ridiculous.
