The Football Association have condemned the Millwall supporters who booed their own players taking the knee in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement before their game with Derby on Saturday. Around 2,000 fans returned to the Den for the first time in nine months for the Championship fixture, which was also the first occasion supporters had been permitted inside grounds since players had started taking the knee in July. Loud boos and jeers were clearly audible when players sank to the turf moments before kick-off. In response, an FA statement read: "The FA supports all players and staff that wish to take a stand against discrimination in a respectful manner, which includes taking of the knee, and strongly condemns the behaviours of any spectators that actively voice their opposition to such activities."
