Apparently they are close to a trade with the Bucks sending Peeler, Smith and Brandon to the Bucks for Sam Cassell and Ervin Johnson or something like that.

Stay tuned

Or maybe Brandon doesn't go to Milwaukee.

Cassel and Johnson to Minnesota and Joe Smit and Anthony Peeler to Milwaukee that seems pretty certain so far.

Actually Peeler and Smith are already on the Bucks roster on their official site while Cassel and Johnson are on the TWolves roster.

Bad news for the Suns.

Minnesota gets a quality player for garbage.

Either MJ is already dealing or the old owners are trying to screw things up for MJ before he can do it. :)

But that also means that Gary Payton will most likely be resigned and will not go to the Lakers.

Yes, it does furthermore I still can't believe it how could MIL be that stupid.
MIN not only got Cassell free but they dumped Smith's contract as well.
Terrible, terrible deal for MIL.

The only good thing is that Peeler's contract isn't guaranteed and they can cut him.

It saves them 4M$ this year that's what I heard.

Yes, that makes the deal better for MIL.

In the Western Conference gets even better. At what point does the Eastern conference become an official minor-league for the NBA?

I don't know about that. They did draft Ford for a reason.

Yes, they did.
He will be Payton's backup and their future PG who will take the starting PG spot two years later when Payton's new contract will expire.

That's assuming Payton wants to resign in the first place. Also, George Karl said he'd be more likely to play Ford at pg right away and play Payton at sg if they do resign him.

I like this quote:

"We want to put players on the floor, and that's what Sammy is," Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said.

Wow, I guess Joe and Anthony aren't players...nice insult, lol.

BTW - English lesson:

resigned means to leave a postition in a company, quit your job, etc.

re-signed means to sign a contract again, or to have your team sign you again.

Actually, Mike, I have thought that in the past as well. However, if you look at the secondary definition in the Oxford English Dictionary, you will find the following:

Resign \Re*sign"\ (r?-z?n"), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Resigned (-z?nd"); p. pr. & vb. n. Resigning.] [F. r['e]signer, L. resignare to unseal, annul, assign, resign; pref. re- re- + signare to seal, stamp. See Sign, and cf. Resignation.] 1. To sign back; to return by a formal act; to yield to another; to surrender; -- said especially of office or emolument. Hence, to give up; to yield; to submit; -- said of the wishes or will, or of something valued; -- also often used reflexively.

I would like to add, though, that "re-sign" is much clearer, and in my opinion a better choice overall.

Since when does information in a dictionary apply to an English lesson? ;)

This page has a lot of info on it. It looks to me like re-sign and resign have pretty different meanings, but you may be right.

I rather stick with the Oxford English Dictionary than some internet site.

I mean the Oxford English Dictionary is an authority and used in english classes all over the world.

Well, that site has different definitions from different dictionaries, so it's pretty correct. It seems to me as if re-sign is the more accepted spelling but "resign" isn't technically incorrect. If anything, it is just unclear and perhaps slightly archaic. There is a good chance that enough people spelled the word without the dash that eventually it became correct by virtue of excessive usage.

As happened with "flammable," the use of which was considered illiterate as recently as ten years ago, but which now has gained acceptance from nearly all authoritative sources.
