Has been playing some good ball. I'll just leave this here.

Minter had the tackle for the safety yesterday. I guess BA was right once again that Minter was playing good football.

Yep, Frostee and Gunter lead the way by making the big push and Minter finished it
Frostee Rucker is the guy who has been playing his butt off. But, agree, Minter has played well and that doesn't surprise me as much as others.

Frostee is playing like Tommy Kelley from last year. Minter is also playing good right now.

The weight loss is really helping Minter. He is much more mobile this year.

The only gripe I had is he took a bad angle on that Kaep TD run where you can see his stumpy legs trying to catch him from behind.. but then again, most LBs may have a hard time catching up to Kaep when he's not throwing pick sixes :D

Minter's also the guy who calls the defensive plays. I saw the green dot on his helmet yesterday (thought it was Rashard Johnson; although this might have to do with gameplan, as well).

Minter had a good pass breakup on a pass to a fullback in the first quarter. He doesn't have the athleticism to be a top ILB; he has to make up for it with leadership, etc. In some ways, he's kind of like the linebacker version of Rashard Johnson. I thought Rashard Johnson was a total bust through his first contract. He comes back on a low-cost new deal and has become a great glue guy.

If you can seperate Minter from his draft position, his development and play has a role on a good team.

Yeah, he's always been known as a run stuffer since his LSU days so for being a 2nd round pick and not being able to cover anybody was a bit of a bummer but with the weight loss hopefully he becomes mobile enough to drop into coverage.

He was never that side line to side line guy your going to put into coverage he was drafted to be a downhill hill run stuffing LB. If you think that's what he does you didn't watch him at LSU. He was drafted to be the running mate to Washington who is that side line to side line guy. Now Washington isn't here and more has been asked if Minter.

To Minters credit it looks like he's put in a ton of work in the off season and it shows. He's playing great. I'm happy to see him succeed unlike some others who just seem to knock him no matter how well he plays

Minter was drafted to be what he was, a classic run stopper and it finally seems he is becoming what we thought we had when we drafted him... it is all about the mental aspect and now he understands the plays and can let what little instincts he has kick in which is a big thing for him because his instincts where not his big trait coming out of LSU but playing hard nose responsible football :)

I'm actually pleased with Minter and love the way he's being used. He's a really good downhill run-stuffer who hits hard.

I know people hate on the dude for not being an every down LB, but he's being used perfectly to force teams to pass against our sick secondary. He's a key component to making teams one-dimensional, and forcing our opponents to play to our strengths in the secondary. Cannot be overstated.

Yes, he lacks sideline to sideline quickness, but that's much more about his hips not being fluid, he's unable to rotate quickly. You have to accept the player for what he is and what he can do and play to those strengths.

He and Canon are key components to stopping the run, making teams one-dimensional, and forcing them to target PP and Mathieu and the rest of our secondary.

This is a team game, and no one player can do everything. You have to put the pieces where they fit, have a team game plan, and execute. That's what we're doing and he's a part of that.

I'd wager that Minter gets a lot more respect in the locker room than he does here.

Noticed his green dot too, proud of him stepping up his game this year. Hopefully he keeps moving forward

Minter has improved a lot over last year. He reminds me of a new version of Ron McKinnon only with better size.
