Amazing, amazing show, won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series last year.

Beware, link below has spoilers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misfits_(TV_series)

Synopsis (no spoilers):

Misfits is a British comedy-drama series about a group of young offenders forced to work in a community service programme, where they attain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. It is a remake of American tv-series Misfits of Science, starring Courteney Cox. It aired on NBC between 1985 and 1986. The UK version started broadcasting on 12 November 2009 on E4, and was produced by Clerkenwell Films. While sharing a very similar synopsis, the characters have other kind of superpowers and the story set in a different context. Both shows feature great humor, drama and visual effects.

Recently "acquired" season 1 based on your rec in the Walking dead thread. Im totally in. Funny, intense, great writing (is it a cable program? Pretty graphic in nature), great characters. Great soundtrack to boot!

Watched the first 2 episodes on my phone today whilst on the trains. Really struggling to not start ep. 3 right now, but I need to get to bed...

Thx for the heads up.

IMO this is the best television show not available in the US.

Yeah, the writing is pretty spectacular. Although you have to try REALLY hard to understand the girl who plays Kelly. She has a VERY strong accent. The last episode I could only understand about 25% of what she said! :D

Awesome series. Watched the first four episodes and part of five so far.

They may have taken the basic idea from the Misfits of Science but it is so much more than that series ever was (yes, I'm old enough to remember it).

When I was a kid, that short run that Misfits of Science had was my favorite of the 80s. I was in love with telekinetic Courteney Cox.

Never liked much of British TV before, but I gave this show a try and I'm very impressed. Very good writing. Just goes to show that you can take an unoriginal (and rather uninteresting, imo) premise and create a pretty good show around it if you just develop interesting characters and unpredictable story lines.

I have finished with the fifth episode of season one.

I'm guessing this must air on some premium network in UK. If this were to ever air in US, it would almost have to be on a premium channel.

If you get a chance, check out season 2 so far. 5 episodes in and it's better than season 1.

Why can't I find this on Netflix?

It's a British show. It's American title is "Missing, Presumed Unavailable". It does suck that all these other people get to see it and we don't. Maybe we should hunt them down and make them sorry they ever teased us with all this "it's a great show but you can't watch it" crap.

There was a ridiculous twist in episode 5 of season 2, but it provided some humor in episode 6, which takes the show in a totally new direction. Pretty good stuff.

Was season 2 really only 6 episodes as well? What happened to the 22 episode season? This 12 and 13 week stuff (let alone 6!) is really frustrating.

It's actually 7 episodes. 6 plus a Christmas episode, which is the only one I haven't seen. They're treating the Christmas episode as separate but the preview I saw at the end of episode 6 made it look like a continuous episode.

British TV is different than American. Heck, even Sherlock (another stellar British show) was only 3 episodes (90 minutes per episode though).

It really didn't get the attention it's now getting, so hopefully Series 3 will have more episodes.

I finished watching all the episodes. Really great show. Unfortunately the next season probably won't start until next fall.
So in the big second season finale (the 6th episode) Simon found out that he was the masked man, but then everyone but Curtis died and Curtis rewound time all the way to before they became famous, so none of that actually happened, right? They never became famous, and Simon never found out, and yet he obviously knows. So should we assume that Alisha told him again?

That's a good question. Did you see the 7th episode? I wonder if that explains it.

It sucks you can't even buy this on iTunes or Zune. I'm dying to see it now. I wonder IFC might pick it up.

Yeah I watched it, but it didn't really explain anything. It just continued with where the sixth episode left off, three months later.

Robert Sheehan to leave Misfits
http://www.google.com/hostednews/uk...OT7uW4B0lxkoT0u0g?docId=N0527911302529805530A

Robert Sheehan is leaving Misfits, and will be written out of the programme in a special online episode.

The actor plays cocky Nathan in the E4 supernatural show, which counts Jonathan Ross among its many fans.

Robert has landed roles in films including Killing Bono and Season Of The Witch, and it is thought that he is leaving Misfits to pursue further movie roles.

I dont know how the show stays great without him he was the MAIN character. I guess from now on they have to focus on Simon and Alisha.

Btw the afterbirth part of ep7 is the funniest thing i have ever seen. I hope they can find a way to keep the comedy without Robert.
