Quinn Priester has only started two games for the Milwaukee Brewers, but his sharp slider has already caught the eye of the baseball martial artist.
Rob Friedman, known as the "Pitching Ninja," took notice that Priester was painting both sides of the plate in his five innings of work during a 5-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night.
Priester, acquired from the Boston Red Sox last week, threw five hitless innings. He walked three and struck out four.
He allowed a double to Gleyber Torres in the sixth inning before being removed after 84 pitches. It was the only hit the pitching staff allowed and it was the Brewers' fourth shutout of the season.
In two starts with Milwaukee, Priester has allowed one run and seven hits in 10 innings. He's struck out eight and walked five.
Priester outdueled veteran Tigers starter Jack Flaherty, getting all four of his strikeouts on the slider.
Fans were noting that Boston received excellent future returns in the trade.
But Priester has certainly provided needed and immediate results for the Brewers' short-handed starting rotation.
Here's some social media reaction to Priester's first start at American Family Field.

Today the #Brewers acquired RHP Quinn Priester ($2.7M surplus trade value) from the #RedSox in exchange for OF Yophery Rodriguez ($5.8M), a Comp A draft pick ($4.4M) and a PTBNL.
The deal is accepted by our model, but as a major overpay by Milwaukee.
