MLB rumors: Red Sox not only AL East team interested in Zack Wheeler trade originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees both need to upgrade their starting pitching before the July 31 non-waiver MLB trade deadline, and it appears these rivals both are targeting the same New York Mets right-hander. The New York Post's Joel Sherman reported Thursday the Mets had "engaged" the Red Sox on a potential deal for Zack Wheeler. Andy Martino of SNY reported Thursday the Yankees also are "interested in Wheeler."
