I hope they get a decent turnout for the games. Phoenix has a pretty large soccer culture but often they just don't show up.

I remember back in late 94 or early 95 when the womens national team showed up and played at Rose Mofford Sports Complex against the Australlian team...it was a last minute thing and it was free of course, we sat right on the grass on the sideline and watched a great game. Got to see Hamm, Akers, Venturini and all the others in their primes. Even free it wasn't packed--of course it wasn't well advertised at the time.

yeah, I was surfing the web about the Real Salt Lake stadium blunder and possible MLS expansion and stumbled upon this. Hopefully they'll advertise this well. I think Phoenix is a viable site for MLS and they need to make sure all soccer events are run well in order to have an impact.
