All of the cards that look good on paper, usually end up sucking.

Fedor will win in less than a round, and one of the lesser bouts will be one of the best ones.

It always works out that way, and rarely are they worth the money on PPV.

Hunt has a fireplug for a head. The dude can take a punch. I think Fedor will ultimately win, but it will not be early....

You wanna know a card that lived up to it's billing? UFC 65 last Saturday! That was a great night of fights, except for the last 2 rounds of Sylvia/Monson. I don't miss these events. I pay once a month for a fight and usually end up at a friend's house for another fight each month. So, my personal experience and perception is far different from yours....

Interesting. I thought that card proved my perception. On paper, the card looked amazing. I thought that the Hughes/St. Pierre match was going to be awesome, and yet it was probably the worst bout of the night. I didn't mind Hughes losing, but I thought that he would have been a bit more competitive.

GSP came out with a full-on gameplan and he imposed his will on Hughes. It was pure ownage and that is why I feel it was such a great fight....

As far as the rest of the card, you have Hardonk KO'ing Pendergarst with a well-placed kick on his sciatic nerve, Irvin KTFO'd his opponent with a beautiful punch, Sakara oddly tries to drop to guard and gets pounded out and Stevenson submits a highly ranked Japanese fighter. That card was full of FIGHTS....

I wonder if the back to back low blows made Hughes more defensive......

Oh, c'mon! His shins hit their intended target (his inner thigh). His ankle and foot caught the bottom part of his cup. Nobody thought that was intentional (I assume that's what you are implying?) - not the announcer, not McCarthy and not Matt himself. If you are saying that those leg kicks (and consequently the inadvertent ball kicks) forced Matt to block down thus causing him to drop his guard and leaving his head open for the head kick, then you are absolutely right. That was clearly part of GSP's strategy....

No, not that it was intentional, but maybe they made him aprehensive, and trying to block lower. (the latter)

I knew 2 minutes into the fight that Hughes would get knocked out by his left leg. The kick that he has is amazing, and I don't think that Hughes had a chance. The few times he tried to wrap him up, he ended up on the losing end of the exchange. GSP was also much quicker in his jabs.

If we could only cross-promote between Pride and UFC, there could be some great matchups. Fedor basically has no one left to fight over there, and well, the heavyweight division in UFC is clearly lacking.

How about a MMA "Superbowl"? Man, I'd love for Fedor to come over and destroy Sylvia and rip that belt of his soggy waist! Also, I think Wanderlei would get the better of Chuck, but I like both of those guys....

Heh.. I think it's every MMA fan's dream to see Fedor or Cro-Cop kick Tim Sylvia's head in to the crowd.
