I have my DVR set to record all new episodes of Modern Marvels from The History Channel. It usually records about one per week.

I was watching one last night that was about gigantic machines. One segment described the London Eye. Wow, what an amazing piece of machinery. I had seen pictures of it in the London skyline, but I didn’t really know much about it.

This is becoming one of my favorite shows.

Last night I watched an episode that taught me everything that I ever wanted to know about nuts. It’s a pretty amazing process from tree to can.

I watched them pull a B-25 bomber out of a lake in South Carolina. It was 60 years old and one of the pilots was actually still alive. Seeing the look on his face when he saw his plane raised from the depths of the sea was absolutely priceless.

I love this show.

I bet the pilot was happy, being stuck in there for 60 years and all

Good one. I should have made the title of the thread "Modern Marvels/Ryanwb's witty one-liners on Bada Bing.

The last one I watched was about how the ancient Egyptians used to mummify bodies. They thought that the brain was useless, so they would break the bones behind the nose (ouch). Then they would have problems digging out the brain because it was too liquid. So, they turned the body on its side so they could stick an object through the nose to mix up the brain, so it could run out the nose.

I love this show. I just watched the episode on the Pacific Coast Highway. What a crazy project it was to build it. They had a clip of a bridge in Oregon that had to be blown up because it was falling apart. I used to cross that bridge everyday on the way to and from school. Made me a little sad.

It would be an awesome road trip to drive this highway from Canada to Mexico.
