He officially takes over as CEO today - so, Congrats, Jeff, and best of luck - for all our sakes!
(If the rumors are true you want to bring Billy Beane on board in some capacity, how about doing it really soon before we dig ourselves into an even deeper hole?)
Now some questions - Does anybody here know when the Major League Owners will vote on accepting him as an investor/co-owner?
Exactly what other than cranky payback is their objection? I would think if you have a guy with inside knowledge of the other side who is willing to put money on being part of YOUR side, you'd jump at it. I can see why the Players' Union might be uneasy. All the more reason for the owners to approve him and gloat.
If they do NOT approve him - what happens? Does he have to step down as CEO and we start over looking for a new CEO/investor? (At which point if I'm DBacks ownership, I start talking to my lawyers.)
