Chaplin is right -- we've had an ASFN league on this site for years, maybe as many as ten. The situation is, a bunch of friends (whom I have now gotten to know a little bit) set up the site as sort of a college hobby, put it out there, and were a bit ambushed by how popular it became. Ever since, the main guy has been going back and forth between fixing up the site and being able to charge for it, leaving it sort of stripped down and letting people play for free, or pulling the plug altogether. They took the site offline a few years ago, for one season, but now it's back up. I think that someday they'll charge for it, but the owner doesn't want to do that until it's really spiffy.
Game play is fine, though, and glitches get corrected sooner or later. Customer support through the main door is pretty much nonexistent, but I can usually get some help if we really need it. So basically it's like a private party with friends of friends of friends, plus any strangers who happen to stumble by.
