Per Dr. Phil's advice, my wife will be joining me in this week's film review. We are spending quality time together on a Sunday, before football season starts. We have also been drinking since Friday afternoon.
Oran: We chose the 1996 thriller "Freeway," featuring Reese Witherspoon, Keifer Sutherland, and a cameo by Brooke Shields.
Linda:I have spoken with several people who have not seen this movie and I find that upsetting as it is kicks ass.
Oran:I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it is pretty much a modern day "Little Red Riding Hood." It's an incredibly dark comedy, and with the exception of "Dark City" I think this is one of Keifer's best acting jobs. This movie reminds me of a combination of "Pulp Fiction" meets...something else.
Linda: It's like when somebody eats sh*t in public and you want to laugh but doing so wouldn't be P.C It's funny and you know it so just laugh.
Oran: It's got hookers in it.
Linda
K............ it's Reese Witherspoon in a totally different role trust me NOT a chick flick.
Oran: I think you might be able to pick up the DVD in the Wal-Mart 5.50 DVD bin by there electronic's section. We found it after we paid 15.99 for the DVD.
Linda: And better than hookers there is a fight in a female prison between inmates.
Oran: This is what it says on the back of the DVD,
"Kiefer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon set off on a trip through a weird world of fast food, faster kicks, and one darkly funny advanture after another in this Sundance Film Festival Guide calls 'A unique and galvanizing experience.'" See, if Robert Redford liked it, it's gotta be the shiznit.
This is also my 2,000th post! Yipppeeee says the Gentleman Jack and Cokes!
