Synopsis:
Martin Blank is a freelance hitman who starts to develop a conscience, which causes him to muff a couple of routine assignments. On the advice of his secretary and his psychiatrist, he attends his 10th year High School reunion in Grosse Pointe, Michigan (a Detroit suburb where he's also contracted to kill someone). Hot on his tail are a couple of over-enthusiastic federal agents, another assassin who wants to kill him, and Grocer, an assassin who wants him to join an "Assassin's Union."

Stars:
John Cusack
Minnie Driver
Dan Arkroyd
Joan Cusack
and more...

Mike's Comments:

One of my favorite movies...this one is sort of a dark comedy, which John Cusack pulls off amazingly well.

There is a scene towards the end when he's shooting up bad guys, while talking to Minnie Driver about himself, their relationship, etc., that is just so classic.

This movie sort of reminds me of Whole Nine Yards in it's humor and feel...

I thought the first two thirds of the movie were pretty funny, but it seemed like a case of the writer(s) not knowing how to end it. It has been a while since I saw it, but I seem to recall endless shootouts at the end of the movie along with some crazy German guy at the reunion.

One big shootout, which is the scene I mention...where he's talking to Minnie Driver about their relationship while shooting up bad guys...hilarious.

Crap, I guess I missed the punchline. They did know how to end it, but I missed the humor. My bad.
