Cast: Anthony Michael Hall, Kelly LeBrock, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, Bill Paxton, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Rusler.

Synopsis: Two geeky teens, Gary and Wyatt, create a woman on their computer who magically comes to life. The boys get more than they bargained for as their creation proceeds to put them in situations to boost their confidence and make them see that people will like them for who they are.

For my money, this is the funniest teen comedy of the '80's, if not ever! Anthony Michael Hall and Bill Paxton steal the show, they are flat out hilarious! The blues bar scene where Gary (Hall) tells his story of heartbreak is classic. Paxton, as Wyatt's (Mitchell-Smith) brother Chet, creates a character intent on making his brother's life a living hell, until he gets his inevitable come-uppance.

With great dialogue and a funny cameo by Vernon Wells, reprising his "Wez" character from The Road Warrior, this is a gloriously over-the-top comedy that doesn't lose any of its appeal over time.

Trivia: John Hughes wrote this film in two days.

Vernon Wells plays "Wez" (unnamed here), the same character he played in The Road Warrior (1981). His vehicle, with two hooded corpses on it, is also the same as in the film.

Anthony Michael Hall makes a reference to a girlfriend from Canada. His character "Brian" from The Breakfast Club (1985) also makes a reference to an imaginary girlfriend from Canada.

All of John Hughes' movies are set in Shermer, IL, of which there is no such place.

Kelly LeBrock's character name was inspired by Apple Computer's first GUI computer, the Apple Lisa.

The high school that Wyatt and Gary attend, Shermer High School, is the same (fictitious) high school that hosted "The Breakfast Club" a year earlier.
