Not sure how people are going to react to this choice, but its one of the most creative sci-fi movies that I have seen in years.

The problem with this movie is trying to give a synopsis of the plot. I had a real difficult time doing that so here's what Rotten Tomatoes said ...

SYNOPSIS: A visual feast combining ancient mysticism, cyberpunk sensibilities, flamboyant entertainment personalities, and gun-toting alien mercenaries. In the 23rd century, Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), an ex-special forces agent who now practices as a down-and-out cabbie, finds himself caught in a struggle to defy a prophesied Evil from destroying the Earth when a mysterious woman (Milla Jovovich) falls into the back seat of his cab. Pursued by both the government and a powerful magnate enlisted by the forces of Evil (Gary Oldman), the woman is the key to Earth's salvation, known only as the Fifth Element. This was French auteur Besson's first offering with Hollywood backing.

I found this movie highly entertaining and I absolutely loved the use of editing to add to the comedy. Plenty of action and comedy for everybody. Besides that how can you go wrong with a movie that has Gary Oldman as the bad guy? For those who have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it!

Favorite Line(s): "She needs to catch up on her rest. She's been on a very long journey"
"Yeah, I know ... I was there when she landed."

Good campy sci-fi fun, though I must admit it took a couple viewings for me to like it. Gary Oldman isfantastic.

I'm pretty much the same. I especially didn't like the casting of the President.

Gary Oldman, my favorite bad guy/psycho. Although after seeing Colin Farrell in Daredevil, he has potential.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and find myself watching it everytime I come across it while channel surfing.

This is on my list of Worst Movies ever made - I couldn't stand anything about this movie. I didn't like the script, I thought the acting was just terrible and I didn't really care for the sets.

Saw this in the theaters and liked it a lot. Chris Tucker was both funny and annoying. Oldman is great in most roles, he was right on in this. Good choice.

Loved the movie, although I can certainly see why some people wouldn't. I must say for the official record that Milla Jovovich is blazingly hot, even with the orange hair.

This movie almost has a cult classic feel to it where the people who like it, love it and the people that don't, hate it and don't understand why people feel otherwise.

The president is horribly miscast. He just wasn't charismatic enough for a president. Michael Clark Duncan would have been better, IMO.

Milla is so hot!

I thought that I wouldn't like this movie but actually enjoyed it. Chris Tucker was hilarious and Oldman was classic as the bad guy. Not the greatest movie of all time but worth watching.

If you are going to cast a black president then Morgan Freeman would be the best choice. Those other guys are to young to be a president.

I liked this movie. It was a bit on the funky side but I liked thought it was a lot of fun, plus it had Milla, Gary Oldman, and Luke Perry.

And I thought casting Tiny Lister as the President was genius!

Come on, I understand quirky casting, but that was just terrible. Tiny Lister's bad acting isn't even Bruce Campbell cheesy bad acting! It's just simply bad.

I really like this movie, it is one of my favorites.

Good comedy, action, and sci-fi all in one.

Gary Oldman is great as usual.
Lagerfeld's costumes were great (strange).

Since there's been so much chatter about this movie around here lately I'm gonna have to give it another chance. I started watching it a long time ago, but didn't get to finish it.

Not Bad, but Chris Tucker's character was possibly the most annoying in the history of cinema. He brought the movie down a few notches by himself. I hated the opera singer scene, as well.

Love it or hate it, not much in between with that character.
