Another 1999 movie that I first watched recently, and really liked.

Go tells the story of a drug deal gone awry, told from three different perspectives. Some have called it a teen-aged Pulp Fiction (but not as good).
I found the movie quite entertaining, and once you get beyond the slow start, a movie that hooks you in and keeps you guessing as to the fate of the characters. Not high entertainment, but entertaining.

Stars Jay Mohr, Taye Diggs, and Katie Holmes.

I really dislike this movie, although I can stand it more now than I did back when it came out.

Maybe it was because I was such a big fan of Swingers, but I didn't like any of the characters--let alone the actors. It was definitely another "day in the life" type of story, but IMO not nearly as tight as Swingers, and not nearly as intimate, if you know what I mean.

I guess I should point out that it was directed by Doug Lyman, whose first film was Swingers, and whose latest film was The Bourne Identity, both superior movies to Go.

I enjoyed Go myself, but as far as comparing it to Swingers, there is no comparison.

I have never seen Swingers, so I am not encumbered by trying to make a comparsion, From what you and Chap said, I need to watch it.

I kinda figured that Chaplin would not like any of the movies I will talk about this week :D

Well, I've never seen Drop Dead Gorgeous, so technically, I only dislike 50% of your movies so far this week! :D

You will have to watch it some time. Great dumb comedy. If you like Mockumentaries at all, you will like this one.

Another great call, Jon!

So it's not better than Swingers - how many comedies are? This is still an excellent comedy with great performances and some truly memorable moments.

My favorite parts of this movie involve William Fichtner's character, Burke. You never know what the hell he's really thinking and he is played with such a great, deadpan style that he steals every scene he's in.

Favorite scene - Jay Mohr's character Zack leaving the bathroom only to find a butt naked Burke blocking his exit, demanding that he sample cologne and then trying to convince him to buy confederated products. "So tell me, Zack - would you say you're into new experiences?"

I actually really liked this flick, with it's small glimpse of the rave scene. The scene's where the kid was on ecstasy are very realistic (except for the cat talking to him :D).

That was a classic scene. Anyone that has had to listen to one of those AmWay or AmWay spin off speals had to get a kick out of that scene. The funny thing was that right after we saw this movie, one of my wifes coworkers called us and asked if we wanted to be a part a "Money Making Oppertunity". I couldn't help but laugh.

Hopefully I can maintain the high standards throughout the week! :D

The scenes with Burke were great - I was convinced they were going to go a slightly different direction, then wham, they hit you with the confederated products - classic!!

As someone who has had a friend offer me Amway, the confederated products part is spot on, absolutely.

I had a friend offer me amway too, not quite as elaborately as in this movie though. Funny scene.

This is one of my favorite from the wild west days of indy 90s flicks.

GREAT movie. I wish Liman would go back to making these type of films, rather than the ridiculously horrible trash like Jumper.

Cards in a rout.
