One of the 'lighter' John Waters flick - a guilty pleasure than withstands multiple watchings, still bringing fits of laughter.
Like all Waters' films, this is set in Baltimore, where Perfect Mom Beverly Sutphin (Kathleen Turner) leads a life that Harriet and Ozzie would envy - with one tiny exception: She is obsessed with serial murderers, and any perceived slights(like not recycling, wearing seatbelts) put you on her death list.
Turner is great going from the perfect, sweet mom, to murderous rage, and back, all in the matter of minutes. Sam Waterson's dead-pan depiction of the beleagered husband is also classic.
