By now if you don't know - then I'm not going to tell you.

SYNOPSIS

Humorist Jean Shepard's vignette-laden, nostalgic view of Christmastime in Indiana during the 1940s.
The main story involves nine-year-old Ralphie, who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas -- and is waging an all-out campaign to convince his reluctant parents that the toy will be safe in his hands. Meanwhile, Ralphie prepares for the big day with his rather idiosyncratic family. For example, his brother has a strange relationship with food, and his dad is obsessed with a crossword puzzle contest. But the most important question of all is...when Christmas Day arrives, will Ralphie be the proud (and careful) owner of a Red Ryder BB Gun?

Ah, Christmas (my favorite holiday) is right around the corner and what better movie than this romp is there to herald it in with? Okay, I know there is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and It's a Wonderful Life (this was going to be my original post instead of this movie), but this movie is hilarious. I love the scene when the mom "breaks" the lamp - rotfl. There are so many funny scenes in this movie, and good lines as well.

I like Santa!

I absolutely love this movie.

Mommie's little piggie!

Ralphie is just hilarious in his innocence / devilry.

I saw a behind the scenes I think about "Rounders" with Matt Damon as a gambler. Anyways, Ralphie is pretty good friends with him & does alot of behind the scenes work in the indusrty.

Too many great moments to recount them all. Almost makes me miss Indiana winters (no, not really). The Chinaman decapitating the duck at the end is my personal favorite. Great pick!

Dude! This is one of my favorite movies of all time! The "fra-gee-lay" line is classic! My brother and I say it to each other all the time.

"You'll shoot your eye out!"
